Multi-lingual twins a big hit
KUALA LUMPUR: They are dashingly good-looking, talented and unique. Meet Soler – Hong Kong’s hottest band of the moment.
Comprising Italian-Myanmar twin brothers Julio and Dino, they grab attention wherever they go mainly because they are non-Chinese pop-rock musicians with amazing language skills.
HOT STUFF: Pop-rock musicians Dino (left) and Julio of Soler were in Kuala Lumpur recently to promote their album Intuition.
Not only do the Soler twins speak and sing in perfect Cantonese and Mandarin, they are also fluent in Italian, English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.
“Being of mixed parentage, and being born and bred in Macau, we’re a mixture of various cultures,” said Dino during an interview here.
The band was in town to promote its chart-smashing sophomore effort, Intuition.
“Our multicultural background has definitely influenced the kind of music that we do and the kind of people that we are,” Julio added.
Describing themselves as “citizens of the world”, Julio and Dino cited Sam Hui, Beyond, Sting, Simon & Art Garfunkel and The Beatles as their early musical influences.
“We listened to Sam Hui’s songs when we were kids without understanding a word of Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) until we went to a primary school in Macau,” Julio said with a laugh.
“He’s one of the most important men in Chinese music. We’re glad that we’re great friends with his son, Ryan Hui, now.”
Aside from having two commercially successful albums, Soler also created history
in Hong Kong recently by becoming the first new act to stage a sell-out concert at the prestigious Hong Kong Coliseum.

逾30歲才起步 SOLER不怕遲
SOLER高票當選“香港十大性感男”第8名。
（新加坡訊）在樂壇醞釀了整整10年，去年才推出粵語專輯闖歌壇，SOLER覺得有心不怕遲。
弟弟Dino說：“雖然說是30多歲才起步，但我相信，每個人成功的時候不一樣，很開心我們有這個機會（闖樂壇），一切都是值得的。”
兄弟兩人13歲就決定要將歌唱當成職業，但一直到10年前才放下各自的工作，以雙胞胎組合的方式，在樂壇發光發熱。
兩人當中，哥哥Julio嚴肅，弟弟Dino較調皮，兩人表示，合作期間當然也有意見相左而鬥嘴的時候，但兩人絕對不大吵、也不會鬧翻。
弟弟Dino說，哥哥是很踏實很有主見的人，對一切都有很強的洞悉能力；Julio則以美言回饋：“我很欣賞Dino他豪邁奔放的個性，只是有時他也太自由了，早上都不太叫得醒，哈哈！”
這支來自香港的雙胞胎創作男生（聲），身上匯聚了多國文化背景的特質，哥兒倆的父親是意大利人，從小跟隨母親在澳門長大。
兩人除了在香港生活，還到過英國、意大利體驗人生，通曉多國語言，並受過多國文化的薰陶和洗禮，造就了今天感情奔放、相當有特色的一支雙胞藝人組。
前天，這對都會成熟系型男帶著全新華語專輯《直覺》赴新宣傳，在記者會上先秀了一段現場演唱的LIVE實力，為媒體帶來主打歌《直覺》和《夢醒世界》。
組合裡，哥哥Julio雖精通鋼琴、吉他，還擅長打鼓，但弟弟Dino才是SOLER中的主力創作人，出道前從事幕后製作的他，曾是香港知名音樂人黃貫中的樂團“汗”的專屬吉他手。
會不會擔心鋒頭全被弟弟給搶盡？
Julio說：“我從不這么想過，我們一直把兩人視為一體，我們就是一支組合。”
其實Julio也不遜色，曾靠平面設計在設計界中闖出一片天地的他，就為SOLER專輯設計封面及內頁。
SOLER：外表有一天也會老
被女網友一致認為“山羊鬚最性感”、而高票當選“香港十大性感男”第8名的SOLER，不太看得起自己嘴下的小鬍子。
弟弟Dino笑言：“這個世界上就分成兩種女孩嘛，其中一批喜歡有鬍子的男生，另一批不喜歡。哈哈！況且，我們從不認為自己性感，我們有一天也會老的。”
SOLER僅以8票輸給以“性感眼神”排名第7的梁朝偉，但兄弟倆不覺得嘴下的山羊鬚有何神奇之處。哥哥Julio指：“我們覺得有這樣的鬍鬚很自然，我們只是做回自己罷了。”
有媒體不罷休，問他倆：“如果有人要你們剃掉鬍鬚呢？
“就剃掉啊！反正3天后還是會長出來的。”惹來哄堂。
