Mandarin album by SOLER
THEY are brothers and they were here to promote their Mandarin album Intuition, released locally by EQ Music.
Hong Kong pop band Soler, comprising twins Julio and Dino Acconci, charmed a packed Press conference in Kuala Lumpur yesterday during their one-day trip here.
Soler, with their Eurasian looks and original brand of music, have taken the Hong Kong pop scene by storm since making their debut last year.
The twins, born to an Italian father and a Myanmar mother (Julio is older by 90 minutes), can speak seven languages - English, Italian, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Cantonese and Mandarin.
So they greeted the Press in different languages before introducing their new album and their music – a blend of folk rock/soul.
Their 10-track album includes a cover of a Cantonese song made popular by their idol, Sam Hui, and an English song entitled Blue.
“We can’t read Chinese so we need help with the lyrics,” Dino said, adding that they hope to release an English album in the future.
The brothers were raised in Macau and spent nine years in Italy and also worked in Britain.
After returning to Hong Kong, Dino joined former Beyond guitarist Paul Wong, and with encouragement from friends, the twins decided to go professional.
Their debut Cantonese album Double Surround Sound, released in July last year, was a great success, paving the way for Intuition just half a year later.

（吉隆坡訊）混血雙生兄弟組合Soler出道以來緋聞不斷（包括楊千嬅及Cookies的Angela），甚至連張惠妹也被他們電倒，但他們四兩撥千斤表示“我們不會看中文，所以很多東西都不知道，但我們選擇輕鬆面對緋聞，別人要說就讓他們說吧，我們只想保有私人空間。”那兩兄弟可曾喜歡上同一個女生？“哈，我們都喜歡我們的媽媽。”
擁有意大利及緬甸血統的哥哥Julio及弟弟Dino，一下機就趕赴意大利餐廳新聞發佈會現場，並以多達8種語言向大馬媒體問好。他們會於翌日早上9時飛往新加坡宣傳，這次來馬之行不超過24小時。曾是黃貫中吉他手的Dino表示，第一次來馬時曾享用這裡的燒魚，這次想再去吃。而Julio則想嘗試大馬的叻沙，“想知道這裡的叻沙和世界各地的叻沙有何不同？”
不考慮分開發展
Soler2005年11月推出首張廣東專輯《雙聲道》，12月推出首張華語專輯《直覺》，並於2006年4月登上香港紅碪開唱。他們的華語專輯特別翻唱許冠傑（Sam）的廣東歌《天才白痴夢》向偶像致敬，演唱會更邀來許冠傑兒子許懷恩當嘉賓，不知他們可有機會和許冠傑見面，對方可曾給他任何鼓勵？
“其實，我們很想邀請他來觀賞我們的演唱會並擔任嘉賓，但他一直有自己的演出要忙。他應該知道我們的存在吧，因為我們和他的兒子是好朋友。如果有機會和他談天、分享經驗，我們覺得會很有意義。”那許冠傑可聽過他們演唱的新版《天才白痴夢》？“嗯，Ryan（許懷恩）曾表示他的爸爸有聽過我們的這首歌，但我們都不敢多問。哈！”
香港樂壇同有雙生姐妹衛蘭（Janice）及衛詩（Jill），但兩姐妹卻各自推出唱片，Soler可考慮在以後分開發展？“我們出道前就有協議，如果做音樂的話，我們一定要在一起。我們覺得一個人很難，要承受很多壓力，現在甚麼都可以2人分擔，一起開心一起承受。”
他們被邀創作及主唱電影《龍虎門》主題曲，不知他們本身可是《龍虎門》的漫畫迷？“我們雖然不會看中文，但身邊的朋友都愛看《龍虎門》，我們也有學畫他們的漫畫。印象最深刻的就是男主角的眉毛都很濃。”
拍電影看緣份
目前，他們的事業重心都放在音樂上，如果有人找他們拍戲，他們也要考量劇本是否適合。
“這次有機會和甄子丹交流，覺得他的動作片很厲害，如果有機會的話，我們也想和他合作拍電影。但一切要看緣份啦！”
